How to save water in a Mediterranean garden

Drip irrigation, mulching and species that survive summer without extra cost.

A well-planned Mediterranean garden can use half the water of a conventional one.

Drip irrigation with a controller: less evaporation and water right at the roots.

5 to 8 cm of mulch: cuts evaporation by up to 60 % and limits weeds.

Resilient species: lavender, rosemary, agave, oleander, olive and ornamental grasses.

Water at dawn or dusk, and check for leaks. These four habits show up in the first bill.
